A brand people
recognise before
they read the name.

I am Manik Hossain, a graphic and brand identity designer. I build the mark, the system around it, and the packaging, listings and campaign work that carry it to the people you are trying to reach.

01Selected work

Six projects, six different problems to solve

A cross-section of the work: identity systems, shelf-ready packaging, marketplace content and motion. Each one started with a commercial question, not a mood board.

01Specialty coffee

Marrow & Oak

A roastery selling three origins that all looked the same on the shelf. The identity leans on a stamped monogram and a colour-coded origin system, so a returning customer finds their bag in one glance.

02Fashion & lifestyle

Aster Atelier

A made-to-order studio moving from personal Instagram sales to a proper label. Wide letter-spacing, a single ligature mark and a restrained palette give it the composure of a house brand.

03Technology

Northbeam

Freight analytics for teams who read dashboards all day. The mark is built from a routing grid, and the guidelines fix the rules for product UI, decks and trade-show print in one document.

04Kitchenware · Amazon

Kettle & Co.

A stovetop kettle competing on a page where every thumbnail looked identical. The image stack answers the five questions buyers actually ask, in the order they ask them, with a comparison chart that closes the decision.

05Cosmetics

Lumen Skin

A five-product routine that needed to read as one range without five identical labels. A shared type structure carries the system; a single shifting tint separates the steps.

06Indoor plants & retail

Verdehaus

A launch campaign cut into nine-second vertical pieces. The logo unfolds the way a leaf does, and the same motion rule carries through every card in the set.

Eight ways I help brands look the part

Most projects combine a few of these. Open a row to see what it covers, what you receive, and who it usually suits.
  • A mark that stays legible at 16 pixels and at three metres. Built as a family, not a single file, so it survives every place it lands.

    Ideal for

New businesses, and older marks that no longer reproduce well.

    You receive

    • Primary logo, secondary lockup, monogram
    • Horizontal and stacked variants
    • Vector, raster and favicon exports
    • Clear-space and minimum-size rules

Not sure which of these you need? Describe the problem in a message and I will tell you what the work should actually cover, including the parts you may not need yet.

Design decisions you can explain to your team

I build the visual side of a business: the mark it is recognised by, the system that keeps it consistent, and the work that carries it to customers.

Most of the brands I work with are not starting from nothing. They have a product that sells, a logo made in a hurry, and packaging that no longer matches what the business has become. The work is to find what is already right, and build a system around it that holds.

I design for how things get used. A mark has to survive an embroidered polo, a foil-stamped box and a 32-pixel favicon. A palette has to behave in CMYK and on a phone in daylight. Deciding that early is cheaper than discovering it at the printer.

Design is a business decision that happens to be visual. If it looks right but does not do the job, it is not finished.

04Process

How a project
actually runs

Five stages, each with something concrete at the end of it. You always know what is being worked on, what you are approving, and what happens next.

Typical identity project: 3–6 weeksScope and timeline confirmed in writing before stage one.

  1. Stage 01

    Discovery

We start with the business, not the logo. What you sell, who buys it, who you keep losing to, and what the design has to achieve once it exists.

    You receive
A written brief with scope, timeline and success criteria.
    Feedback
You confirm the brief before any design work starts.
  2. Stage 02

    Research & Direction

I map the category, look at how competitors present themselves, and set a direction: tone, colour territory, type character, references.

    You receive
A direction board with two considered routes.
    Feedback
You pick one route. We adjust it before it becomes expensive.
  3. Stage 03

    Concept Development

The chosen direction becomes real design. Marks are drawn and tested small, large, one-colour, reversed, and in the places the brand will actually appear.

    You receive
Concepts presented in context, with the reasoning behind each.
    Feedback
One consolidated round of notes, gathered from your side first.
  4. Stage 04

    Design & Refinement

Spacing, weight, optical corrections, colour values, print behaviour. This is the stage that separates a design that looks good in a presentation from one that holds up in production.

    You receive
The finished design system with every variant built out.
    Feedback
Two refinement rounds are included as standard.
  5. Stage 05

    Delivery & Support

Files are organised, named and packaged so anyone can use them. Where it helps, guidelines document the rules so the work stays consistent after handover.

    You receive
Full file package, export set and guidelines where in scope.
    Feedback
Post-handover support while your team puts the work into use.

05Why work with me

Strategy before decoration

Every decision traces back to something in the brief: a buyer, a shelf, a competitor, a price point. I can tell you why the design looks the way it does.

  • 02

    Systems, not one-off artwork

You get rules that keep the next hundred pieces consistent, instead of a single file that nobody knows how to extend.

  • 03

    Built for production

Dielines, bleed, spot colours, minimum sizes, one-colour versions. The work arrives ready for the press and the platform, not just the presentation.

  • 04

    Organised delivery

Named, foldered, versioned files with the export formats your team and your suppliers will ask for.

  • 05

    One designer across disciplines

Identity, packaging, listing content and motion from the same hand, so the pieces already agree with each other.

  • 06

    Detail at the small end

Optical spacing, curve quality, hierarchy at thumbnail size. The things nobody names but everybody notices.

  • 07

    Straightforward to work with

Clear scope, clear timelines, and written updates. Time zones are planned around, not apologised for.

06Client feedback

Quotes go here, once clients have approved them

Rather than fill this space with invented praise, it stays empty until real clients have written and approved their own words. If you would like to speak to someone I have worked with before committing to a project, ask and I will arrange a reference.

07Start a project

Tell me what you are
building. I will tell you
what it needs to look like.

Send a short description of the business, the product and the deadline. You will get a reply with an honest scope, a timeline and a price, usually within one working day.
